Social Media Tips and Tricks

QuarterCompany team members recently attended an excellent workshop regarding the use of social media among non-profits, sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America’s Miami Chapter. So many of our clients and partners are putting profiles on Facebook, Twitter and others to enhance relationships and gain ground with new audiences, that we wanted to share some of the tricks and tips that came from this seminar. As the summer winds down and the busy fall season begins, we hope that you find them useful for your organization’s marketing efforts.

Facebook (FB) Tips:

  • Create an album of logos and photos specifically on your FB page so that all your brand’s images are easily associated
  • Make your mission and vision more clear by putting on the main page
  • Utilize FB as a sister site to your company or organization’s main web page
  • Be sure to cross-promote by sharing links to other partner organizations on your FB page
  • In order to remain relevant and interesting to your target audiences, be prepared to post 2 to 3 times a day

Twitter Tips:

  • Utilize Twitter to maintain a direct line of contact with your clients, customers and partners
  • Create an appealing profile by using logos and tag lines that can be linked directly to your mission, products and services
  • Be vocal and converse with others, and always ask followers to “retweet” when the content is important, and thank your followers for their constant support
